The Open is here and you might think to yourself 'I'm not competitive, that's not for me'. What you might be really saying is: My experience with this gym is about growth, progress, and continual improvement. I don't want to pigeonhole myself to my 'score'. My fitness or wellbeing isn't reflected by one, two, or three workouts because it's difficult to quantify the benefits that I receive from the physicality of my practice. The body awareness, the energy, the exploration that I create in the process of daily workouts goes beyond a leaderboard.And that's true.
But in reality, we're playing. We're having fun and being creative within the concept of fitness.
So while The Open might initially look like a one dimensional attempt to pigeonhole you into a category...
Remember it's all just pretend. For fun! And if you are competitive and it lights your fire to leaderboard it up, we say go for it! Happy Friday, Josh
